Wine for Dinner!

The table is set which wine will you choose?

Good Morning RV Dining Wine Enthusiasts!

I am so happy to report that the staff and I are working diligently to make this the most fabulous UnderGround Dining Event that we have created thus far. As you may know if you have attended one of my RV UG Dining Events before, I create a one of a kind one night only menu. As an artists this creates such a fun challenge for me to venture out into the farmers markets and cheese shops and other fine purveyors and find inspiration that is transformed into a delicious menu. It is also a Chef's Choice and a Surprise! So I bet you are asking, Chef Iccha, If I do not know what we are eating how will I know what wine to bring? I would say to you excellent question. Here is your answer:

If you know the flavor elements that are in each dish, you will be able to pick a delicious match. Wine pairing is a masterful dance of the right combination of taste and texture, aroma and intensity, acidic and fruity notes blending to create a sensation in the mouth that causes the sum of the parts to taste better than they did on their own. This is done by either matching or contrasting the elements of the dish to the wine. Since I know the textures and tastes, I will list the characteristics that will assist you in making a tasty decision. After you have perused the recommendations keep in mind that there are no absolutes pick a wine that you enjoy and you can never go wrong. You are the final authority!

The information that I found most helpful was in a lovely book that I borrowed from my local library:
This Food That Wine:
Food and Wine Pairing Made Easy
Angie McRae, Stacey Metulynsky, Chris Knight

Happy Mother's Day

I am grateful for this beauty that I live everyday that I call my life. I am grateful that I get to do what I love most. I am grateful for my Family and Friends. I am grateful for the Gift of this beautiful body and mind to experience this beautiful life.

In that vein I thank God everyday for my Ancestors and my elders. I am grateful that they came before me and did what they did so that I could have this felt resonant experience of their love. I am grateful for the stories that I have been told by them and the gifts that I have received from them.

On my recent trip to San Francisco, for book signing of Bryant Terry's Awesome Book: Vegan Soul Kitchen, I met up with a friend JFK, and she told me that she shared some wisdom with her teen-aged daughter. Jeanette said that she knows that she is here today because her ancestors held the line for her. They held the bloodline, they stood in line, they walked the line, and they crossed the line! I sat quiet for a moment and knew that is true for me. I am grateful for all of my ancestors that did that for me so that I could have the freedom that I love so well.

To my ancestors and my elders I salute you. I appreciate you. I love you. I will never forget you, and I will share you and your rich stories and traditions with my children and my children's children.

Blessed Love Always
Your Daughter
